The Toyota RAV4 has experienced great success at Toyota on Western in Chicago. It has much to appreciate: excellent capability, a spacious cabin, rugged good looks, and practical features. If you're interested in getting a new two-row SUV, we invite you to check the RAV4 out.
Performance
The team at Toyota has carefully designed the new RAV4 with performance in mind. It sits on a platform that has given it a long, wide stance and good handling. The gas-powered RAV4s in our lineup use 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engines. This engine provides the vehicle with 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, which are impressive. About half of the available RAV4 trims use electrified powertrains. They have hybrid systems that utilize 2.5-liter engines along with electric motors. These components create a net horsepower of 219 and come standard with all-wheel drive. With the non-hybrids, all-wheel-drive is an option, but the default configuration is to have front-wheel-drive. That being said, two non-hybrid trims - the Adventure and TRD Off-Road - are automatically equipped with all-wheel drive. Their all-wheel-drive systems have been enhanced with a dynamic torque vectoring feature and a rear driveline disconnect. These two trims also have Downhill Assist Control for added peace of mind around Oak Lawn and Orland Park.
Safety
Every new RAV4 available has a full suite of driver-assist systems for Oak Lawn and Orland Park drivers. The RAV4 can always be on the lookout for potential problems, ready to alert you to anything concerning. If you need assistance, the vehicle could even hit the brakes on your behalf or correct your steering for you. Rest assured that this will only be done if necessary. Advanced sensors and monitoring systems give your Toyota the necessary information to make precise adjustments at the right time. The long list of standard features includes lane departure alert with steering assist, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, and lane tracing assist. Other standard components include road sign assist, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. Most trims also have blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, and they could have 360-degree cameras and parking assist programs.
Technology
If you appreciate advanced technology, you'll be pleased with the standard multimedia system integrated into the Toyota RAV4. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to easily communicate with others and access information stored on your smartphone. It also comes with SiriusXM, a program that will expand your entertainment options. The standard touchscreen measures eight inches, and the upgraded one measures 10.5 inches. With either configuration, you can take advantage of voice recognition. An 11-speaker JBL sound system with a subwoofer and amplifier can be installed in a RAV4 to pump up the audio. With multiple USB ports, mobile devices can stay charged while you travel around Bucktown and Calumet City.
Trim Levels
There are 13 RAV4 trims to consider, which is impressive. The LE and XLE start things off. They both have LED Daytime Running Lights and the advanced technology we described above, with the XLE having LED headlights and blind-spot monitoring. The XLE Premium looks more elegant with 19-inch wheels, SofTex seats, and a moonroof. More rugged and spirited, the Adventure and TRD Off-Road are ready for anything, and the Limited shines with its refined accents, upscale cabin, and comprehensive technology package.
The LE, XLE, XLE Premium, and Limited are all available as hybrids. Other hybrids available are the sporty Hybrid SE and Hybrid XSE and the Hybrid Woodland Edition, a trim with bronze details that give it a distinct appearance.
